Delkin Announces Archival Gold DVD-R

Delkin announced they now have a DVD-R addition to their Archival Gold media line. These DVDs last upto 100 years. They have other media, including CD-Rs, that last 100-300 years. If you are thinking of long-term storage of genealogy data, photos, etc., this might be just the thing for you.

iuTime 1.3.0 has been released. iuTime is a simple, yet handy tool for date and time calculations. It allows you to perform time and date calculations (subtractions, additions, etc. between multiple dates). The developer has indicated that it will be ready for Intel-based Macs. It requires Mac OS X 10.3, and is free.

* Corrected inappropriate window resize on the add event sheet.

MacGenealogy.org has been chosen as one of the 101 best undiscovered Web sites by Family Tree Magazine.
Coincidently, this week marks the first birthday of MacGenealogy.org (the domain, the site existed as a .Mac homepage prior to July 2004).

Those of you using Mac OS X 10.4, that have accumulated a lot of files containing genealogy information, if your files are not being searched through Spotlight, there is a utility, Highlight that allows you to import items to the Spotlight index via Drag & Drop which are not indexed by default…. It can also display Spotlight related info for items…. This is a free utility.

Nisus Writer Express 2.5 public beta has been released.This new version adds significant new features such as right to left input (for languages such as Arabic and Hebrew), bullets and numbering, support for LinkBack, an improved style sheet navigator, and many bug fixes and enhancements. Nisus Writer Express will be available later this year for $69.95. This update will be free for current Nisus Writer Express users.
Hog Bay Software has released Hog Bay Notebook 3.5 (164). This fixes an issue withnew notebooks failing to save under Mac OS X 10.4. Requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later. Note:According to postings in the Hog Bay Notebook forums, Spotlight capabilities are going to be integrated into the next major release, which the author is currently working on. This would allow youto search individual entries in your notebook(s) through Spotlight.
