Macworld: New Hardware – MacBook Pro & iMac

Today the first of new machines from the Intel/Apple partnership were announced to the world. The 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop and the 17-inch and 20-inch iMac. The MacBook Pro is powered by an Intel Duo Core 1.67GHz or 1.83GHz CPU, while the iMac has either a 1.83GHz or 2.0GHz CPU – the Duo Core is basically like having two CPUs.

Macworld – January 2006

Don’t forget, Macworld San Francisco 2006 starts this week, with the keynote from Steve Jobs being tomorrow morning at 9:00am PST/California. Nothing as earth shattering as the move to Intel announced last year, but there are good indications of new hardware being rolled out (Intel Core Duo powered Mac minis and iBooks being mentioned).

Update: The poll is here

First off, MacPAF has a poll going about layout/look in regards to how the Pedigree View should display empty buttons – you can vote here – this will be the first of several polls taken over the next few months as MacPAF 1.0 nears release.

MacPAF Preview Release:
From Logan: “The end is in sight for the first preview release. There are only a handful of things left to do before I’ll feel comfortable letting some of you beat on it and put it through its paces. If all goes well, sometime this weekend or during next week I will release the first public preview…..Depending on how the preview release goes, I expect a final 1.0 release in 1 to 3 months”.
