A version of FTMM2 that was released earlier this year (going back to February or before) was causing some people to have issues with the media count/column in certain areass. Some of these counts were extremely high or were showing “0” even when media was attached, according to some genealogists on the Ancestry.com forums, and based on what I saw with a test I ran.
Good news though! According to a few posts I’ve seen around the internet, this issue may finally have been released with Family Tree Maker for Mac 2 21.2.5, the latest update. It’s not specifically mentioned in the release notes below:

Current iFamily users, you can automatically update through the iFamily for Leopard menu. It can also be downloaded from the iFamily for Leopard website if you would prefer to update it manually or try it out (if you aren’t currently using it).
iFamily for Leopard has received a major update, bringing it up to version 2.752, and more importantly, adding support for OS X Mountain Lion. iFamily for Leopard is a Mac genealogy application available for Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8, one of the very few in the genealogy software field that supports that many OS X versions.

Registration Added OSX Version to the registration details. iFamily now runs under OSX10.4 to 10.8, (Tiger to Mountain Lion) but it is becoming increasingly difficult to support Tiger Users without restricting later OSX’s so we need to gather some stats on which OSX you’re all using. Update: Fall, 2017 – macOS High Sierra – Apple is now the current system, however if you have purchased Mountain Lion through the App Store, you should still be able to download it (through your Purchases tab).

There maybe a retail version you can pick up in an Apple Store or have it shipped to you, but for now this is it, just like with OS X 10.7 last year.
Last week, Family Tree Maker for Mac 2 has been updated to version 22.214.171.1245. Welcome news for those who were having issues connecting to Ancestry.com through Family Tree Maker for Mac 2.
I may have missed an update or two, as my last update showed 21.2.1.
Family Tree Maker for Mac 2 126.96.36.1995 Release Notes: This update fixes internet connection issues that prevented Ancestry.com integration features such as Web Dashboard, Web Search, and TreeSync from working correctly.
We are pleased to announce that the Internet connection issues people have been experiencing with Family Tree Maker for Mac have been resolved. To get the update, close out of Family Tree Maker; then reopen the application. You’ll be notified that an update is available. Click Install Update. When the installation is complete, you may need to log in to your Ancestry account again. You can do this in the Web Dashboard on the Plan workspace. If your connection still doesn’t seem to be working, make sure the software is set to go online. You can do this by selecting Go Online from the File menu.
If you aren’t prompted to install an update, please go to the Family Tree Maker menu and select Check for Updates.

It was a pretty big deal for a lot of people. Ben Sayer at Genealogy Tools said the issues have been present since last weekend. Before I updated, I was getting the message that I was offline.
You can click on the Family Tree Maker 2 menu and then “Check for Updates” if you have it installed. It can also be purchased/downloaded through Ancestry.com.
