Mac OS X Software and Information
Bee Docs’ Timeline has been updated to version 1.5. Bee Docs’ Timeline is timeline charting software for Mac OS X, and you can download it here. There was no version 1.4 – version 1.5 is now a Universal Binary, and as such requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or greater.
Logan Allred, the developer of MacPAF, is running a poll about which versions of Mac OS X should be supported under MacPAF
MacFamilyTree 4.2.9 is now out with two updates. This is a Universal Binary application – it will run well on both Intel and PowerPC computers, however Mac OS X 10.3.9 is required.
This release added adjustable split views added to the media list and fixed some problems with the GEDCOM file loader.
MacPAF has some major news this morning – the second private beta has been released, and it is now being compiled as a Universal Binary (a major feat considering that Apple hasn’t released that much information about compiling Cocoa-Java applications as a Universal Binary). One of the updates in this beta is importing sealing ordinances from old PAF 2.3.1.
Personal Ancestry Writer II version 50, 6 April 2006, has been released by Howard Metcalfe. It’s free and can run on MacOS 8.6 – Mac OS X. It’s written to give you many of the same features found in the original Personal Ancestry File genealogy program. This version corrects a few errors and adds a new feature, and changes another.
Family 1.2.1 was released this morning. This is Mac OS X genealogy application (Universal Binary). All genealogy information, multimedia, etc., are contained in a single file. You can download a demo from family.halfduplex.net. Version 1.2.1 consists of updates to the user interface, printing, and exporting.
